Tooth sensitivity

Tooth sensitivity may due to decay, tooth wear from heavy toothbrushing habit, tooth acid erosion, gum recession caused by gum disease, tooth whitening or gum surgery that exposes the root surface of the tooth. You may feel a painful sensation in your teeth after having cold or hot drinks.

It is recommended to seek dental professionals' advices to find out the causative factors leading to your tooth sensitivity. Desensitizing toothpaste and mouthrinse may be prescribed to relieve tooth sensitivity.

Fillings may be required to place on the tooth wearing surface to protect the underlying tooth structure from stimuli. Full mouth rehabilitation with fixed restorations such as crowns will be needed for severe cases.
